Leveraging
It has been 20 years since my university days! I still remember like it was yesterday, a marketing lecturer standing up in front of the lecture theatre with a CD. (He would have displayed the Spotify app in today’s age.) He said that if we remember one thing from his course and one thing alone, remember to “leverage.” He gave the example of a musician who writes a song, records it once, and then leverages it many times by putting the songs on a CD which is sold time and time again. This is how you make money, he said. To me, “Leveraging” your successes, and unique processes you have created, is a crucial element of continuous improvement (CI).
