Compute combines CPUs, memory, and disks virtual equipment to create virtual machines. This is done by virtualizing physical servers and storage devices shared by multiple users.
A virtual machine is a computer software file, called an image, that acts like a real computer. It runs in a segregated environment, just like any other software program, and gives the end user the same experience as they would have on a traditional host operating system. The software inside a virtual machine is sandboxed and cannot escape or tamper with the physical computer. Multiple virtual machines can operate simultaneously on the same physical computer.
