Personal statement
This is undoubtedly the most important part of an application form – and
the only part that is likely to cause you any real difficulty.
The first step – before you start writing – is to take a long, hard look at
the job description and/or person specification. The onus is on you to
demonstrate in your statement exactly how you meet the employer’s cri-
teria, so you need to make sure you understand very precisely what those
criteria are.
It will help you to draw up a list of specific examples that you can use to
