Do you follow or have you watched any episode of MasterChef? I have managed to watch a few of them and its quite interesting to find how much preparation and planning goes into the making of one dish. The contestants start with selection of ingredients, planning where timing plays an integral part, defining the dish with combined creativity and innovation and finally the moment of truth, presenting before the judges or guests waiting for the decision. I have seen many contestants—even though they might be good chefs in their own little world—crumble under time pressure, make many mistakes during cooking, not finish on time, or create a dish that was not edible at all. There are also contestants who have taken feedback during the entire process and, with well-thought-out planning and a good strategy in place, have shined as winners.
You can take this scenario and if you investigate the occurrence of events, you can easily identify that the key to success starts with preparation and planning for the end goal in sight with a fixed timeline or fixed resources. The rest is to prepare for your journey, plan, listen, action, and adjust your roadmap.
