I remember explaining to a family member that the reason her mother had rejected her offers of help was not because she did not need or really want it, but because she could not bear the thought that she might be in some way beholden to her. This is not a sign of self-contained strength but one of deeply held weakness. We know how much we really benefit from the help and support of people around us, whether they are family, friends, or co-workers. These ties between people do not just bring about shared experiences; they also strengthen the ways we work together within an organization, whether this is a team or a family. Asking for and getting help as part of a project is far from a sign of weakness, but is a way of binding people together in a shared vision and working toward something larger than ourselves.

Running a team, a department, or a company cannot be done by one person. High-performing teams (and companies) work together to be efficient and effective, and a Digital Transformation team is no exception.
