Eddystone-EID is another datatype Google Eddystone supports in their beacons. The frame broadcasts an encrypted ephemeral identifier (EID) that changes periodically. The rate can be described at the time of beacon registration with a web service. This broadcast identifier can then be resolved remotely by the same service it was registered to. This feature is added in the beacon for security applications, where the data needs secure transmission. For a man-in-the-middle attacker, the frame data will appear to be changing randomly, but at the receiver's end (with the correct web service), it is always resolvable.
