In the world of IoT, ZigBee was probably the first low-power technology that adopted a mesh topology. To give you an introduction about ZigBee's technology, it is a low-power, low-cost wireless standard designed for monitoring purposes. It is built on IEEE standard 802.15.4 and is normally used in a personal network environment. The typical range of ZigBee in a pure line of sight is somewhere around 10-100 meters, but the inherent advantage in the mesh topology gives ZigBee an extendable range.
