So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Mesh networking in ZigBee
In the world of IoT, ZigBee was probably the first low-power technology that adopted a mesh topology. To give you an introduction about ZigBee's technology, it is a low-power, low-cost wireless standard designed for monitoring purposes. It is built on IEEE standard 802.15.4 and is normally used in a personal network environment. The typical range of ZigBee in a pure line of sight is somewhere around 10-100 meters, but the inherent advantage in the mesh topology gives ZigBee an extendable range. Although it is a low-power device, the use of mesh networks has given it strong adoption in the industry. In a typical ZigBee mesh network, there are three kinds of devices:
