OVERVIEW
The software development cycle is typically managed within either project or product structures within an organisation. In both cases, something is designed and delivered. In a product-centric approach, the people who created the product are involved in the ongoing maintenance and lifecycle of the product. In a project-centric approach, a project team comes together for a defined period of time to deliver set goals. After the project achieves its goals, any products delivered are supported by different teams, and the project team disbands. Many roles are common to both approaches, and some occur more regularly in either project or product structures.
