11 QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTING
OVERVIEW
Testing must be carried out on a wide range of aspects of software and hardware. Before new systems can be implemented, every part of their operation needs to be tested. This involves testing the functionality of the system, using test data to ensure the expected outcomes are produced by the system and validating the integration with other systems and levels of performance. Professionals involved in testing contribute to some or all of the testing cycle shown in Figure 11.1.
