6.3 Distributed depot service
On managed nodes, the depot server, a new TMF service, will send and receive
multicast. The depot server is capable of reading and writing to the existing
MDist2 depot.
Figure 6-3 shows the depot server.

The depot server is divided into various components:
Multicast Sender: We are using the Hyper Delivery reliable multicast transport
protocol (RMTP) developed by IBM Japan for sending bulk data. The sender
