Perhaps no other issue in this book elicits a more visceral response than the role of foreign talent in US society. We are a country of immigrants and the contributions of those who have chosen to come here, or have sought refuge from war, persecution or poverty, have shaped what the US is today. Welcoming the “best and brightest” is of central importance to our future. A recent report by the JASON group1 “reconfirms the value of and need for” foreign talent in the US—a position we easily support. There is no place in the US for hostility, xenophobia, or ethnic profiling.
