So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter examined the 6bone, including its architecture, which is based on the pseudo-TLA, providers, and end sites. It also looked at assigning address spaces to pTLA within the 3ffe::/16 prefix allocated by the IANA, the steps to become a pTLA, and the routing policy enforced in the 6bone.
This chapter also examined the former and current policy allocation of IPv6 address spaces to providers on the production IPv6 Internet. Address spaces are allocated by regional Internet registries. You also reviewed the criteria for becoming an IPv6 Tier-1 provider on the IPv6 Internet and reassigning IPv6 addresses to customers.
