The cross product is a very useful operation for calculating the vector perpendicular
to two others, the area of a parallelogram or triangle, and the sine of the angle
between two vectors. The cross product is also known as the
vector product.
3.10.1 PERPENDICULAR VECTOR
Figure 3.7 shows two vectors, a and b, and a third vector c, which is perpendicular
to the first two vectors. This is written using the perpendicular symbol _L.
