6.1 Performance Monitoring Infrastructure
The Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) is a set of packages and
libraries designed to assist with gathering, delivering, processing, and displaying
performance data in WebSphere Application Server runtime components. In this
section, we introduce the updated Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) in
IBM WebSphere Application Server V5.
The PMI uses a client-server architecture. The server collects performance data
from various WebSphere Application Server components. A client retrieves
performance data from one or more servers and processes the data.
