This chapter will introduce the foundations of business process modeling using a standard-based approach. In this chapter, we will discuss the concepts of using Business Process Model and Notation 2 (BPMN2), a standard developed by the Object Management Group (OMG). BPMN has become the de facto standard for modeling business processes.
