So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
Effective interface designers have many considerations when creating a new design. The considerations include stylistic, social, and technical issues that place constraints on and afford opportunities for design solutions. By understanding the limitations and capabilities of speech-related computer hardware, an interface designer can develop an appropriate design as well as work more efficiently with developers who are more intimate with hardware issues. As a design team, you then have the ability to create elegant design solutions for real-world problems. The types of business problems currently being addressed by speech interface design teams is the topic of our next chapter.
