Accommodation

Accommodation, the fourth law, states: The interface will fit the way each user group works and thinks.

Human Factors

The assumption behind this law is that the system should accommodate itself to the user, not the other way around. To accommodate specific user groups, design the interface so that it matches the way users want to do their work.

Technology Considerations and Implications

Documenting how users currently do their work (current workflow) and then deciding on and documenting what tasks the user will do with the new system and how they will do them (future workflow) are critical to accommodating the interface to the users.
