This section provides an overview of childhood, including what kids are able to do at various ages. For the purposes of this book, we are primarily concerned with children under 12, so the sections are divided into babies and toddlers (0–2 years), preschoolers (3–5 years), early elementary-school kids (6–8 years), and tweens (9–12 years). A brief discussion of teens is also included as well to provide a full picture of childhood.
