無作為抽出と標本バイアス
標本は、大きなデータセットからの部分集合だ。統計学者は、この大きなデータセッ
トを母集団と呼ぶ。対応する英語は
population
だが「人口」のことではない。母集団は、
データセットとして定義された大きなものだが、理論的あるいは仮想的なもののことも
ある。
無作為抽出（ランダムサンプリング）では、母集団から選ばれる要素はどれも同じ確
率となる。得られた標本は、単純無作為標本と呼ばれる。標本抽出では復元抽出と言っ
て、再度抽出の対象となるように選択した観測値を母集団に戻す方法か、非復元抽出
と言って、選択した観測値を母集団に戻さない方法かのどちらかをとる。
標本に基づいて推定したりモデル化したりする場合、データ品質がデータの量より
問題になることが多い。データサイエンスにおけるデータ品質には、完全性、フォー
マットの一貫性、清浄度、個別データポイントの正確さが含まれる。統計学では、これ
に代表性という概念が加わる。
