The foundation has been laid, the runtime has been introduced, the tooling has been discussed, and we have presented some of the basic components. Chapter 6, “Business Processes,” positioned the business process as the central component around which most other services and components revolve. This chapter discusses all the services and some of the remaining service components.
While describing these components, we cover some of the important concepts in business integration, such as mapping and relationships. We also discuss the rules and decision points that drive these business processes, especially business rules (BRs).
