Abstract
The digital immune system (DIS) idea is drawn from the human immune system to develop adaptive and self-learning cybersecurity systems. As companies dramatically adopt digital transformation, cyberattacks are evolving with sophistication, prompting rapid innovation in cybersecurity technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) has played a big part in making this possible, substituting old rule-based security solutions with more intelligent, adaptive systems fueled by generative AI. Though old AI models have succeeded in automating threats such as threat detection, malware analysis, and anomaly detection, they are mostly dependent on historical data and preset patterns. This makes them incapable of detecting and acting on fresh or changing threats. With the rise in sophisticated and unprecedented cyber-attacks, intelligent, self-aware systems capable of evolving together with emerging threats have become increasingly needed. These necessities have ensured that AI-powered cybersecurity technologies are now more important than ever. In this chapter, we provide the key technologies related to next-generation need for cybersecurity threats.
