METERING
Matrix Metering
Matrix metering—sometimes called pattern or eval-
uative on some camera models—is in some ways the
most complex metering setting. However, this mode
is believed to oer the best exposure palette for the
majority of photos. Matrix metering divides a scene
into small zones (or grid s) in a matrix and measures
each of these grids individually so the camera can
get a reading for each section of the frame. e
camera then evaluates these readings and produces
an average metering for the entire scene. Aer that
