It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

After your period of training and self-development comes the difficult transition to paid employment. Even with top-notch abilities in craft and reliability, you will probably, like most in the arts, have to struggle for a subsistence living until you gradually get known and established.
