Abstract
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are versatile tools used in various situations and industrial applications. This article focuses on the invention of a modular UAV with an amphibious landing capability and a surround sense module for monitoring water quality in remote water bodies. The computed aided modeling and detailed structural and airflow features analysis are carried out. It is configured to achieve strong and lightweight features with amphibious features, fair stability, and good buoyancy for a fair landing and navigation through water bodies. The transition between aerial operation and water-based operation is seamless. The integrated Surround Sense Module (SSM) gives situational awareness in real-time through Sonar and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) systems. Field tests are done rigorously to check the performance, reliability, and safety of the UAV being developed. With adaptability, modularity, and advanced sensing features, this UAV has the potential to transform roles from surveillance to disaster response in aquatic missions.
