Jim McCarthy has participated in the creation and shipping of over twenty-five PC software products.
Jim first started programming on a TRS-80 Model I in 1976, with Level I BASIC. Not too long after, he abandoned practically every other interest in life to pursue his growing passion of programming personal computers. A couple of years after his experience with the Trash-80 and BASIC, Jim loaded up a camper with a computer, a BDS C compiler, and books by Kernighan and Ritchie, Plauger, and Knuth and took off for the woods. He stayed in the woods for weeks, working night and day to teach himself “real programming.”
