5 CONCLUSION
Although 60 GHz technology is considered to be
the promising physical layer connectivity solution
for indoor high-speed wireless applications, its mil-
limeter-wave characteristics lead to the great path
loss, larger reflection and transmission attenuation,
and weaker scattering. Therefore, how to enhance
the link performance, extend coverage, and develop
the spatial multiplexing are key issues to be stud-
ied. To solve these problems, we studied the channel
characteristics of the 60 GHz MIMO system, and
propose the optimal array configuration guidelines.
Then a two-layer antenna array based 60 GHz
wireless communication link model is proposed.
