the University of Wisconsin from 2001. Their process is called *BioForming and their company, which is still
developing it, is called Virent Energy Systems; it operated a demonstration plant from 2006. The catalyzed
process operates at a relatively low temperature (180°C–260°C). Other workers are developing related pro-
cesses that convert glycerol to fuels.
