It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Reacting to alerts on SLO breaches is an activity at the heart of SRE. It lies exactly between the definition phase where the SLI and SLOs are defined as hypotheses and the acting phase where the reliability measures are implemented as part of learning. It is best to perform this activity when the following criteria apply.

The service can be brought back within the SLO very quickly.
