Architectures for Learning

 

 

 

Architecture: The structure of anything. Romanesque, Baroque, Art Deco. These are just three of over 30 different architectural styles.

 

A combination of art and science, great architectures are both functional and aesthetic. Instructional architectures are no different. Usually documented as an outline or lesson plan, learning blueprints reflect assumptions about learning that differ as to 1) sequencing of content; 2) size of topics; 3) role of the learner; and 4) role of the instructor.
