So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Managing block storage – Ceph RADOS Block Device (RBD)
Ceph has been an attractive open source Software Defined Storage (SDS) solution since its earliest release. This can be justified by its massive scalability and high performance capabilities that puts all defined patterns for block, object, and file storage in one unified software. Ceph was designed to scale up to Exabyte storage pools and even more, and run on commodity hardware.
If you are already running a Ceph storage cluster, there are still areas to extend its layout when operating a private cloud running OpenStack.
