Ceph has been an attractive open source Software Defined Storage (SDS) solution since its earliest release. This can be justified by its massive scalability and high performance capabilities that puts all defined patterns for block, object, and file storage in one unified software. Ceph was designed to scale up to Exabyte storage pools and even more, and run on commodity hardware.
