I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Neutron HA – DVR
Legacy routers in Neutron provide the following connectivity scenarios:
- Traffic flow between VMs (east-west)
- Traffic flowing between VMs and an external network (north-south) using floating IP addresses
- Traffic flowing from a VM to an external network (north-south) using Source Network Address Translation (SNAT)
SNAT is a network method consisting of replacing the source IP address of a TCP packet when reaching an external network, the source IP of the VM will be translated and used as the router's address.
As the traffic flowing through the whole OpenStack environment must hairpin through the same network nodes, this routing design exposes major performance issues with the increase in the amount of traffic. Besides to ...
