I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Containers in OpenStack
Like Swarm, Kubernetes, or Mesos, the sole part of the Magnum project is the Container Orchestration Engine (COE) that aims, essentially, to orchestrate a collection of containers providing the application features. As shown in the following architectural diagram, the Magnum COE leverages different OpenStack services, including:
- Keystone: Managing multi-tenancy for different container clusters
- Neutron: Wiring COE nodes through multi-host networking
- Heat: Orchestrating the underlying COE nodes and resources
- Cinder: Hosting containers connected COE nodes
- Nova: Spawning the COE nodes to run and manage containers
