I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring block storage for the Manila backend
The driver backend can be specified using the flag driver_handles_share_servers.
In the following configuration, we will enable the generic driver for Manila that uses a combination of volume and compute services:
- Edit the /etc/manila/manila.conf configuration file to specify the desired generic driver to be used. Additionally, specify the types of protocols for share communication as follows:
[Default] enabled_share_backends = generic enabled_share_protocols = NFS
- For each backend driver, add a new section named as specified in the enabled_share_backends directive initially for a generic driver:
... [generic] share_backend_name = generic_backend01 share_driver = manila.share.drivers.generic.GenericShareDriver ...
