Abstract
Purpose: The present study examines the increasing use of Human Capital Analytics in the Information Technology (IT) sector and its relevance in Industry 5.0. The ROI of human capital is calculated to measure the performance of investment in human capital.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The case study approach was followed using the ROI approach to evaluate the human capital investment in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd. Secondary data were extracted from the company’s annual reports for this study.
Findings: High-quality human capital is the fundamental strength of the IT sector, which leads to competitive advantage. It has huge financial implications for the organization. The return on human capital investment should be more than the cost of capital in order to make the company profitable. In Industry 5.0, where high-technology machines will operate with human efforts, having customer-centric manufacturing of goods and services, Human Capital Analytics returns will provide strength to the companies. TCS has been successful in implementing it with adequate returns.
