I HOPE YOU ENJOYED PART 1 OF THIS BOOK. ITS MAIN PURPOSE was to give a full background of how I developed my leadership process and wellness techniques. It was quite literally a matter of life and death.
Why read on?
Sometimes my stories can feel a little unrelatable—interesting and entertaining, but unrelatable. You probably haven't seen combat. Relatively few people have.
You probably haven't suffered not one but two life-threatening injuries while operating as a Navy SEAL. Even fewer people have.
You likely haven't experienced Traumatic Brain Injury or suffered silently and unknowingly for over twenty years. Although, as we are learning, more people have than we think.
You likely have not been told that the injuries you suffered should have, in all likelihood, led you to take your own life.
As I've mentioned before, the challenges we face are not in competition with each other. They meet us where they are in life. So, if what I've gone through seems completely unrelatable to you, I ask that you reframe how you are looking at it.
Physical, mental, and emotional stress plagues us all at some point. Yours may not be as intense as mine, but it still exists for you. It still needs to be dealt with. If it's not dealt with, you will begin to suffer the consequences of your inaction.
And that is the point! We need to take action toward the things that will cause us stress and spiral out of control if not dealt with.
