So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A manager of information technology (IT) has no greater worry than an environment that is out of control. When a server is down and the IT manager didn’t even know the server was supposed to be in production yet, stress can be high. When a new business application is introduced to production and the infrastructure support team hears about it only when the application takes over half the network capacity, the stress really builds. When users begin installing the latest desktop widget and the service desk doesn’t yet know how to support it, the IT manager may start thinking about a career change.
