Abstract: This chapter examines implications for social interaction processes in health contexts. First, we begin with a description of relationship-centered health-care and the underlying assumptions of recognizing the provider-patient interaction as a relationship, but a distinct type of relationship with an inherent focus in accurate diagnosis and negotiating next steps in treatment.
