Data is at the heart of every app. Whatever an app does, it must organize and manage data efficiently. iOS includes a selection of data collection objects that make it relatively easy to collect, count, list, search, and filter data. These objects are powerful, with many methods, but their features are elegant and subtle. This chapter introduces the iOS data collection objects and includes a brief introduction to some possible applications. It also explains how you can control the timing of events with timers and delayed methods.
