So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

To be fair, recording studios never had to be huge, expensive affairs, even before the advent of inexpensive digital recording technology. Sure, you could walk into multimillion-dollar facilities in Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, London, and many other famous locations. But some of the most important records in history came from smaller locations, like Sun Studio in Memphis or J&M Recording Studio in New Orleans. The point here is that, with the right motivation and knowledge, you can make great recordings just about anywhere.
