About the Author

Ryan Williams is a technical writer and musician living in New Orleans, LA. He received his master’s degree from the Indiana University School of Music at Indianapolis in 2003. His previously published works with Wiley include Teach Yourself VISUALLY Bass Guitar, Windows XP Digital Music For Dummies, and many, many others. He has shared the stage with everybody from Grammy-award-winning hip-hop artists to full bagpipe-and-drums corps, but not at the same time.

Mike Levine has a wealth of experience as a writer and editor of magazines, books, and websites in the music and music-technology fields. He’s currently the U.S. editor for the French website Audiofanzine, and is the former editor of Electronic Musician and Onstage magazines. Levine’s four books include How to Be a Working Musician, and The Warren Haynes Guide to Slide Guitar (with Warren Haynes). Levine is also a multi-instrumentalist who writes and produces music for television in his home studio, and plays in three bands. Visit his website: www.mikelevine.com.
