The real world doesn’t prevent audio devices from working together. You can take an instrument, run it through multiple effects devices, then output that audio to the recording console, amplifier, or PA of your choice. You can even run multiple instruments through that same effects chain by taking a mixer or some other signal splitter at the beginning of your chain. So why not reproduce that ability on your iPhone or iPad?

This chapter details the Audiobus app (on version 2 at the time) and everything you can do with it. Think of Audiobus as the virtual cabling you need to route your audio signal wherever you want it to go. You can even save your configurations for easy recall later. Try doing that with all of your physical cables and devices.
