Other Organizer Shareware
In case nothing described in this chapter works for you and your particular hardware/software/iPod combination, you might want to take a look at some other software options out there designed to help with these organizational sorts of tasks.
PocketMac iPod Edition. Here’s another option for those who have scheduled their lives in Entourage or Outlook. PocketMac iPod Edition converts and transfers all those contacts, appointments, tasks, notes, and even unread email from the desktop to the iPod. The shareware works with Windows 2000 or Mac OS X 10.2 (or later versions) and sells for $23.41.
vCard Manipulator. This powerful program for Windows 2000/XP and Mac OS X 10.2.8 can sling vCards on and off the iPod (and just about everything else), and it can even link up with a FileMaker 7 database. Free to try, $49 to buy.
EphPod. The same powerful little utility that lets you move music to an iPod without using iTunes (Section 2.6.3.2) can also move your Outlook contacts. And it’s free.
