In Chapter 3 we discussed knowledge management foundations including infrastructure, mechanisms, and technologies, and how organizations manage it. In Chapter 4, we examined how organizations manage KM solutions, including KM systems and processes. In Chapter 10, we examined how organizations should consider the contingency factors in selecting KM solutions. We also examined the management of specific KM systems in Chapters 6, 7, 8, and 9. To complement these chapters and better understand the overall management of KM in an organization, this chapter examines the leadership of KM and the ways in which the value of KM can be assessed in an organization.
