As we have seen throughout this book, the goals of knowledge management are for the members of an organization to discover, capture, share, and apply knowledge. However, the nature of KM is undergoing a dramatic change primarily because of emerging technologies, such as social media, augmented reality, generative artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. In Chapters 12 to 14, we discussed some of the roles of emerging technologies in knowledge management practices and methods. In this concluding chapter, we identify and discuss five critical issues for the future of KM. These issues are discussed in the next five sections, followed by some concluding remarks.
