Experience is the best teacher.
Experience is everything to fathers. They use their own life experiences to teach their children about the world as they grow. Dads relate their personal experiences and lessons they have learned to whatever it is that their children are experiencing at the time—a stunning defeat on the ballfield, the invitation to a big party that never arrived, a failing grade on a pop quiz. Sometimes kids don’t want to hear another one of Dad’s stories, but as they grow older, they become more interested and even start to appreciate the importance of those lessons. Experience really is the best teacher—especially when it is Dad’s experience, shared at just the right moment.
