Be determined.

 

Dads are often great role models for determination. Their success in life was likely achieved as a result of their determination, and they try to use these life experiences to teach their children not to give up pursuing a goal—even a modest one. Determination, every father will tell you, can overcome many of life’s obstacles.

Leaders also understand how important a sense of determination is in achieving success in organizations. Most goals worth achieving are difficult to reach, which is what makes them so valuable and desired. But just having the ability and the desire is usually not enough—you also have to be determined to stick with it, and to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
