Assembling the base

Let's build! Assuming you bought a chassis similar to mine, you will be able to assemble it with these steps; for a completely different chassis, I strongly recommend consulting their documentation for assembly instructions. You will have a collection of parts covered in a layer of paper. This is to prevent the plastic from getting scratches, and can be safely removed. You can do this by getting a nail under it, or failing that, a craft knife. It's not essential to remove it, but a robot looks better without it. The next diagram shows how:
