Synopsis

cdparanoia [options] span [outfile]

The cdparanoia command reads (rips) audio data from a CD and stores it in WAV files (or other formats: see the manpage). Common uses are:

$ cdparanoia N

Rip track N to a file.

$ cdparanoia -B

Rip all tracks on the CD into separate files.

$ cdparanoia -B 2-4

Rip tracks 2, 3, and 4 into separate files.

$ cdparanoia 2-4

Rip tracks 2, 3, and 4 into a single file.

If you have difficulty accessing your drive, try running cdparanoia -Qvs (“search for CD-ROM drives verbosely”) and look for clues.
