5.1 General requirements
A LearningSpace system consists of the following components:
򐂰 Required: A LearningSpace Core server
򐂰 Required: A database server for storing the Core data
򐂰 Required: A content server that serves up the learning content of each course
򐂰 Optional: A LearningSpace Collaboration server
Theoretically, all components can be placed on the same machine. However, for
performance and scalability reasons in production environments, at least the
database server and the Collaboration server should be on separate machines.
