Domain structure and domain wall dynamics in microwires as determined by the magneto-optical Kerr effect

Abstract
This chapter is devoted to the application of the magneto-optical Kerr effect to the study of surface domain structure and magnetization reversal in magnetic microwires. The chapter provides an overview of different experimental configurations of the magneto-optic effect, describes the specific details of magneto-optical magnetometry and microscopy, and highlights the main effects discovered using the magneto-optical technique.
